I will have three problems incorporating the results of Hahm's study when I update my Cochrane systematic review [1]. Rates of nausea and vomiting are reported as graphs without numerals: I will be reduced to enlarging the graph, ruling horizontally from the top of each bar to the vertical axis and estimating the number. Secondly, the authors do not report how many participants were affected in each group for the total observation period: I will therefore be reduced to using the time period in which the most events happened for each outcome, 24-48 hours for nausea and 'nausea or vomiting', 6-24 hours for vomiting and for rescue antiemetics. Thirdly, the authors do not report the rates of side effects, other than saying there was no difference in the incidences of headache, dizziness and drowsiness.
I would be grateful if the authors would publish these details. I would be grateful if the editorial team ensures that future papers in Anaesthesia report numbers.
